February Is Heart Disease Awareness Month!
“Go Red Because Your Heart Matters!”
Here are some tips to keep your heart health in check:

  • Be Physically Active – aim for 150 minutes of aerobic exercise per week.
  • Maintain a Healthy Weight – aim to keep your BMI in the normal range:  18.5 – 24.9 Normal, 25-29.9 Overweight, 30+ Obese.
  • Don’t Smoke – smokers are 6 times more likely to suffer a heart attack.
  • Manage Stress – take a walk, stretch, meditate, do yoga, deep breathe.
  • Eat Well – aim for eating a lot of fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean protein.
  • Sleep Soundly – aim for 8-9 hours of undisturbed sleep
